Academic Decathlon 08- 09 ( 24rth year of competition)

Andrean has been competing in the Decathlon since 1985-86
This competition is the most difficult of all the academic contests.
The Decathlon is the "oldest" of the Andrean Academic teams.
A, B, and C students compete in ten academic areas.
Competition consists of essays, speeches, and scantron tests.

Andrean has been competing in the Super Bowl since 1985-86
Super Bowl consists of six squads of 3-6 students who work together answering subject related questions. A student can be on up to three squads.

The team won the Duneland Team Plaque for most correct answers for three straight years. (97-98, 98-99,99-00)

Andrean has been competing in the Quiz Bowl since 1997-98
Quiz Bowl is the high school version of "Jeopardy." It features an electronic buzzer lockout system. Successful team members combine broad knowledge with a fast buzzer finger.

Spell Bowl is a team spelling bee with words written.
Ten spellers spell nine words each for a 90 perfect score. All teams spell the same words.

The 2005 team finished second at the State Finals in the Loeb Playhouse at Purdue University, West Lafayette. November 12, 2005.
This was the team's sixth consecutive appearance at the state competition.
The team correctly spelled 74 out of 90 words. First Place team New Prairie scored 77/90.

Science Olympiad 08-09 ( 8th year of Competition)

Science Olympiad is Andrean's newest academic competition. All grades are eligible to participate. The competitions include individual and team events consisting of biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, computers, and technology.

Engineering won 5 medals in six events.
Academics won 8 medals.

Andrean finished 17th in the State overall and has competed in the State competition 3 out of the 4 years since the team started.
