The Andrean Student Council was formed when Andrean opened in 1959. Under the direction of Rev. John Wick, the first election was held November 23, 1959. The officers (all freshman) were Terry Smith, president, Barbara Lazzaro, vice-president, Tom Franko, treasurer, and Annette LeClaire, secretary. Homeroom representatives were Mike Gregoline, Jim Walsh, Dennis Balutewicz, Dale Marino, Mike Chelap, Michelle Kalicki, Kathleen Manoski, Sheralyn Nash, Margaret Rada, and Jane Yovanovich.
The system was first set up so the boy with the most votes was president and the girl with the most votes was vice-president. Marcia Wojkovich had the distinction of becoming the first female president in 1978.

Throughout the years the council has provided many social and service activities for the Andrean community. A major annual task is organizing a successful Armageddon to close the school year.
During the 2000-01 school year the Student Council office was moved to its new location in the main hall. The Student Council can now be contacted through email or voice mail.
The Andrean Student Council provides a means by which the students can address school-related issues. It promotes school and community activities and school spirit. Students are trained in good citizenship and leadership. Student council is in charge of all Homecoming activities, sponsors Winter Formal, Armageddon. It also plans and carries out Freshman Orientation. Student Council is the avenue which allow the student body to have special days, ie. Andrean wear, dress-up, etc.
